***UPDATE 1st June 2012***

Addition of Dawlish Tri – 30th September, just to extend the series and incorporate a new event.

The South West Series has now been established for a number of years, and enables athletes to compete within their age group categories across a range of races within the region.

The Series this year sees the introduction of a new scoring system, and a wider range of events to select from, encompassing races from all areas of the South West.

Series qualification will be a minimum of 4 events, with one being open water.

Scoring will be in percentage terms based upon the time of the 1st Male / Female being 100%. Therefore in a Sprint event with the winner completing in 55 minutes, a time of 75 minutes would score 73.3%. The idea behind this will hopefully ensure that athletes, wherever they are competing, will need to race hard and not just turn up to claim maximum points as they are the only competitor within the category.

In the event of competing in more than 4 races, your best 4 scores to count.

Entry to the series is open to Triathlon England members living in the South West or a Triathlon England South West member. Entry is free, but must be completed prior to the 1st June 2012.

Prizes will be awarded soon after the final event commencing with age group 20-24 and increasing in 5 year intervals (age as at 31st December 2012). Those to be awarded are as follows 1-3 entrants 1st only, 4-7 entrants 1st & 2nd, over 8 entrants 1st, 2nd & 3rd.
